Warranty

Every coating we sell comes with a warranty on the coating on your paint: System X’s manufacturer warranty, or, on the 10 Year at its special price, our own Detail District 10-Year Limited Warranty.

System X Manufacturer Warranty

The 10 Year Ceramic at its regular price comes with System X's lifetime warranty on the Max G+ (or Max MF) coating on your paint, the 6 Year Ceramic with System X's 6-year warranty on the Pro+ coating, and the 2 Year Ceramic with System X's 2-year warranty on the Crystal+ coating. Detail District is a System X Accredited Installation Center: we register your coating with System X within 30 days (it's recorded on your CARFAX) and give you its warranty card. System X warrants the coated paint against oxidation, loss of gloss, UV damage, acid rain, and chalking, and puts a covered problem right free of charge. It's System X's warranty, so System X's own terms are the final word; this is a summary of them.

What keeps it valid

A yearly inspection by a System X approved applicator, within 30 days of each anniversary. We’re one, and we’ll remind you when it’s due.

If something fails

Tell us within 30 days, with photos if you can. We inspect it and take the claim to System X for you.

What keeps it valid

  • The coating is installed by a System X approved applicator and registered with System X within 30 days, with a warranty card issued. We do both for you.
  • A yearly inspection by a System X approved applicator, within 30 days before or after the anniversary of your last service: an exterior wash, decontamination, Crystal+ or Topcoat+, and an inspection, recorded with System X within 30 days. The applicator charges a fee for it. Missing one ends the warranty for good.
  • Washing regularly, about every two weeks, to System X's recommendations. Dry the coated surfaces so no water is left to dry on them, especially in the first two weeks after the coating goes on. Wipe off any water spots with vinegar as soon as you can.
  • Touchless car washes only. Never use a car wash with brushes.
  • If a panel is damaged or repaired, it has to be re-coated by an approved applicator, at your cost, within 30 days.
  • The vehicle stays registered as a passenger vehicle for non-commercial road use for as long as the warranty runs.

The warranty is registered in the owner's name and can't be transferred. It covers passenger vehicles in the USA and Canada, not commercial vehicles of any kind. It doesn't cover swirls, marring, scratches, scuffs, or chips; water spots; failed clear coat; damage that was already there; damage from careless or incorrect washing, automatic car washes, or brushes; collision, vandalism, fire, hail, flood, stones, rail dust, overspray, or other physical damage; or areas not re-coated after a repair.

Full terms are at systemx.com. It’s System X’s warranty, so System X’s own terms are the final word.

Detail District 10-Year Limited Warranty

The 10 Year Ceramic at its special price comes with our own Detail District 10-Year Limited Warranty, on System X and GYEON coatings alike. It covers the ceramic coating on your paint for 10 years from the date the coating was applied, for the original owner and vehicle. The trim, glass, and wheel coatings are separate products and aren't covered.

What's covered

  • Peeling, flaking, cracking, or separation of the coating from the surface under normal use.
  • Failure of the coating to protect the surface it was applied to, shown by etching or staining from water spots, bird droppings, bug splatter, or acid rain that the coating should have resisted, provided the conditions below have been met.

What we'll do

If we find a covered problem, we'll repair or re-apply the coating on the affected panels at no charge for labor or materials. Repaired areas stay covered for the rest of the original warranty term.

Repair or re-application is the only remedy under this warranty. It does not include a refund, and it does not include compensation for other damage.

What keeps it valid

  • A yearly inspection wash with Detail District, within 30 days before or after each anniversary of your service. It's a wash and a check of the coating, booked with us; it may carry a fee, and we'll confirm any fee when you schedule. A missed inspection ends the warranty.
  • Bypass the annual inspection by choosing any of our Ceramic Coating Maintenance plans. Kept up, the plan's visits keep the warranty in force in place of the yearly inspection.
  • Washing by hand, or with a touchless method, using pH-neutral soap and clean microfiber. No automatic car washes that use brushes or cloth.
  • Removing contaminants such as bird droppings, tree sap, and bugs promptly rather than leaving them on the paint.
  • Following the care guide we give you, and not applying polishes, compounds, abrasive cleaners, or other coatings, sealants, or waxes over the coating unless the care guide allows it.

What's not covered

  • Physical damage: rock chips, scratches, swirl marks, key marks, door dings, and collision damage.
  • Damage from washing or care that doesn't follow the conditions above.
  • The trim, glass, and wheel-face coatings. Each is its own product, and none is covered by this warranty. Only the coating on the paint is.
  • Problems that come from the paint, not the coating: failure of the factory clear coat, paint that was already damaged, or paint that has been repainted or repaired since.
  • Damage from accidents, hail, fire, flooding, or other events outside normal use, and from the use of the vehicle for racing or off-road driving.
  • Any work done to the coating by someone other than Detail District, and film or wraps applied over it.

Making a claim

Contact us within 30 days of noticing a problem, with photos if you can. We'll schedule an inspection, and we decide whether the problem is covered. Inspections inside our service area are done at your location; a travel fee may apply outside it, as described in our terms.

Your booking confirmation and our service records are your proof of coverage. You don't need to register anything.

Limits

This warranty can't be transferred. If you sell or give away the vehicle, the warranty ends.

It's a limited warranty, not an insurance policy. To the fullest extent the law allows, it replaces any other warranty, and our total liability under it is limited to the amount you paid for the coating. This warranty gives you specific rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by state.

If your coating was our earlier 8-Year Ceramic Coating, the same warranty applies to you for 8 years from your install date, with a yearly inspection in each of those years.

Coatings installed before System X

If your GYEON coating went on at the regular price before we switched to System X, GYEON’s warranty applies. Its terms are below.

GYEON Manufacturer 10-Year Warranty

If your 10-Year Ceramic was installed with GYEON's Infinite coating (before we switched to System X) at its regular price, it comes with GYEON's manufacturer warranty, the INFINITE Warranty: 5 years as standard, and it carries on past that, through year 10, for as long as the periodic services are kept. We registered it with GYEON as a GYEON Certified installer. It's GYEON's warranty, so GYEON's own terms are the final word; this is a summary of them.

GYEON warrants that the coated paintwork will keep its gloss and its self-cleaning ability, stay protected against most elements, and stay easier to clean of bird droppings, organic contamination, tar, bugs, and acid marks. It doesn't cover any other kind of damage or failure.

  • A yearly inspection wash with Detail District, within 30 days before or after each anniversary of your service. Keep them up and the warranty carries on through year 10. If one is missed, your coverage drops back to GYEON's standard 5 years from your install date.
  • A maintenance wash with a booster spray at least once every three months, done by Detail District or another GYEON certified detailer.
  • No soap or detergents for the first 14 days, while the coating cures.
  • No automatic or commercial car washes.
  • No work on the coating by another detailer, dealership, or body shop that GYEON hasn't approved.

The warranty is for the registered owner only and can't be transferred. It isn't valid for commercial vehicles, and it's void on panels that are damaged or repaired.
